The deployment of the Oracle Database Appliance (ODA) at a large regional transport company* has ensured that the applications have ended up on a standardized, simplified and reliable platform. This made the management of this considerably easier. In addition, the performance has been increased.
The transport company has asked AMIS to set up a stable, predictable and manageable Oracle platform that can be outsourced in the long term. Two other requirements were lower management costs and separation of management and licensing of the test and acceptance environment. In the end, it turned out that the ODA was the best solution. How did the transport company come to that conclusion?
Together with the transport company, AMIS has identified a number of technical spearheads, including high availability, control over license costs and stability in management. Based on this, the following actions have been drawn up:
The Oracle Database Appliance (ODA) turned out to be the most suitable for all these actions. A configuration has been set up with 2 ODAs: 1 in each data center of the transport company.
The PES provide savings for the transport company. The ODA platform has ensured that complexity has decreased and performance has greatly improved due to the demonstrably faster hardware. The license structure has also been made fully transparent and used more effectively.
